About Us
At the heart of our story is Taal Makhana, a superfood rooted in purity, tradition, and authenticity. Unlike field system farming that relies on irrigation and often uses fertilizers or insecticides, our makhana is strictly cultivated in perennial taals (ponds)—natural water bodies that refresh themselves over time.
Growing in 4 to 6 feet deep, pristine waters, the plants mature slowly, drawing nourishment only from nature. This unique environment ensures that every makhana we harvest is free from contaminants, and bursts with superior attributes—bigger pops, fluffier texture, and a delicate golden-ivory hue. For true makhana lovers, it’s purity you can taste in every bite.
While field system farming offers speed and higher yields, it often compromises quality. Taal Makhana, on the other hand, is nutrient-rich, lower in moisture, and naturally long-lasting, which means higher shelf life, reduced chances of fungal growth, and a consistently premium product that discerning customers prefer.
We proudly source from Mithila, Bihar, the birthplace of authentic makhana and a region honored with a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for this heritage crop. This recognition is not just about geography—it’s about preserving centuries-old practices, farmer wisdom, and the unmatched quality that comes from tradition.
With every pack, we bring you more than just a healthy snack. We bring you the legacy of Mithila’s wetlands, nurtured by pure water, pure taste, and a heritage you can trust.
